1 INTRODUCTION

1(a) in LEAGUE with GOLF Ltd (ILWG) devised and owns the MyGolfRanking (MGR) system that compiles Club Handicap Golfers’ Leagues. MGR is updated and published on the dedicated social golfing network www.mygolfranking.net.

1(b) MGR, which comprises men’s and women’s Club, Corporate, Regional, National and International Handicap leagues, is compiled by ILWG as a service to golf. MGR embraces all competitors who play in stroke play competitions selected by participating Clubs and is based on every score, net of handicap, in these events.

1(c) MGR is similar in two basic concepts to the R&A/USGA World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). Like WAGR, a player’s MGR league position is based on all scores. Like WAGR, MGR is not a system that rewards the good score and ignores the bad. Like WAGR, irrespective of which Counting Event provides a player’s data, MGR can, in addition to producing club handicap leagues, merge data to provide regional, national and international leagues. The principal differences in criteria between MGR and WAGR are (i) MGR uses net scores, (ii) MGR uses club handicap competitions, with a minimum of 1 round, (iii) MGR ranks every club member who plays in at least one Counting Event, irrespective of the player’s finishing position in the event and (iv) MGRanked players without points will not be shown in any ranking list.

1(d) ILWG reserves the right to vary or amend any MGR Rules at any time.

Liability

1(e) If an individual organisation wishes to make use of the results of MGR for its own purposes, it may do so, but ILWG shall not be responsible or liable in any way whatsoever for any other use of MGR.

1(f) ILWG accepts no responsibility or liability in any way whatsoever nor makes any representations or warranties, whether express or implied, with respect to the accuracy or completeness of any leagues calculated using MGR and shall have no liability to any third party resulting from use of or reliance upon the leagues.

Licensing

1(g) ILWG will grant a revocable license to reproduce the leagues published from time to time under the Rules. No reproduction may alter, amend, adapt, change, revise or supplement the leagues in any manner or form.

1(h) Any individual or organisation wishing to reproduce or otherwise make use of MGR in a manner that seeks to alter, amend, adapt, change, revise or supplement the leagues in any manner or form must seek the express permission of ILWG before so reproducing or otherwise making use of the leagues.

2 DEFINITIONS

2(a) The Administrator (Admin) will be appointed by ILWG to administer MGR.

2(b) Bonus Points are awarded to the leading players in Counting Events.

2(c) Counting Events are stroke play events selected by a participating club.

2(d) The Counting Event List is the official list of all Counting Events.

2(e) Counting Rounds are all rounds in a Counting Event - each Counting Round will be used in the calculation of a player’s Divisor whether or not the player completes the round.

2(f) Counting Scores are net stroke play scores recorded by a player in a round of a Counting Event.

2(g) A player’s Divisor is calculated by totalling his number of stroke play Counting Rounds. The minimum divisor is 8.

2(h) The Event Category of an event depends on the number of competitors that tee up in the event.

2(i) The Event Conversion Score (ECS) is the calculated standard used to convert a player’s Counting Scores to MGR Points.

2(k) MGR Performance determines MGR Players’ relative MGR positions and is calculated by applying the MGR Technical Performance Calculation.

2(l) A player becomes a MGR Player when he/she has teed off in a Counting Event.

3 THE MGR SYSTEM

3(a) At least 14 days before the playing of the first Counting Event of the year, participating clubs must publicise to the members, the Club’s Counting Event List with a minimum of 12 Counting Events.

3(b) If Admin decides not to approve an event as a Counting Event, ILWG shall give reasons for its decision to the Club.

3(c) ILWG shall have no responsibility or liability for any listing of Counting Events failing to include the name of a sponsor.

3(d) The allocation of points will be in relation to stroke play events.

3(e) When a player has a No Return in a Counting Round or his score is disqualified, no points will be awarded to the player but the round will count in the Divisor.

3(f) When a player has a score of 12 or more over the ECS no points will be awarded to the player but the round will count in the Divisor.

3(g) The Event Conversion Score (ECS) is the calculated standard used to convert a player’s Counting Scores to Stroke Play Points and is calculated by averaging the leading net scores in relation to the number of participants in the event.

3(h) If a MGR Player turns professional or loses the status of amateur, the status of MGR Player will be forfeited. If a player has lost the status of MGR Player, the player may not participate in MGR for the remainder of that calendar year and only thereafter at the discretion of the player’s club.

3(i) A player who is a member of more than one participating Club may become a MGR Player at each club if the player tees off in a Counting Event in each club. If the player fulfils the above conditions in a Counting Event in each Club, the player will feature in the leagues of each club.

4 PROCEDURES FOR MAKING DECISIONS

4(a) All decisions and calculations made under MGR shall be made by ILWG in the first instance and shall be made in accordance with the Rules.

Review of decisions in relation to player league positions.

4(b) Where a player is dissatisfied with the league position that has been awarded, that player can request that the calculation be reviewed by ILWG.

4(c) ILWG shall consider the original calculation of the player’s position together with any written submissions made on behalf of the player and may write to the player requesting the provision of any further information which may assist ILWG.

4(d) Following review, ILWG may either (i) determine that the position was calculated in accordance with the Rules or (ii) determine that the position was not calculated in accordance with the Rules and require Admin to undertake the calculation again, taking account of any matters directed by ILWG.

4(e) Any determination by ILWG shall be final.

4(f) ILWG shall inform the player in writing of its decision, and the reasons for it, no later than 28 days after its receipt of the player’s request for a review.

4(g) Pending review by ILWG, a calculation by Admin of the player’s ranking shall remain in full effect.

4(h) In making decisions and/or calculations under MGR, ILWG will be relying upon data being received in respect of completed Counting Events. ILWG shall not be responsible or liable for any calculation of league positions made on the basis of incorrect or incomplete data received from a particular Counting Event or any delay in receiving data from a Counting Event.

Review of decisions in relation to approval of an event as a Counting Event

4(i) Any Club that is dissatisfied with a decision of Admin in respect of whether or not to recognise an event as a Counting Event can request to have such decision reviewed by ILWG.

4(j) ILWG shall consider all the relevant information that was before Admin in reaching the original decision together with any written submissions made on behalf of the Club and may write to the Club requesting the provision of any further information that may assist ILWG.

4(k) Following review, ILWG may either (i) uphold Admin’s original decision; or (ii) refer the decision back to Admin to make again, taking account of any matters directed by ILWG; or (iii) substitute its own decision for that of Admin.
